Day 2

Day 2

Lisbon – Évora (D) 

Warm welcome by IBMT Tours Tours representative upon arrival to Lisbon and then transfer to Évora. Dinner & Overnight in Évora.


Day 3

Évora – Marvão – Castelo de Vide – Castelo Branco (B-D) 

After breakfast, visit Évora, classified as a World Heritage by UNESCO. On leaving Évora we will travel through to Marvão, a picturesque wall encased village perched high over a hill overlooking the Spain/Portugal border. Next on our route is Castelo de Vide, where we will visit its medieval Synagogue. Arrival in Castelo Branco by the end of the day. 
Dinner & overnight at the hotel.


Day 4

Day 4

Castelo Branco – Serra da Estrela – Belmonte - Guarda (B-D)

Departure after breakfast to the highest point in Portugal, the Estrela mountain. Along the way we will admire some of the most rugged and yet beautiful landscapes of Portugal. Next is Belmonte a village that was home to a crypto-Jewish community discovered only in the XX century. Visit of the Jewish Museum, and of synagogue. Afterwards continue along the road to Guarda for dinner & overnight.


Day 5

Guarda – Trancoso – Douro Valley - Porto (B-D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Then visit of the ancient Jewish quarters of both Guarda and neighbouring Trancoso. Driving through the interior of the country we reach Lamego, in the heart of the UNESCO classified region of the Douro Valley. Highlight of the day is a visit of one of the farms of the Douro Valley, where we will have the opportunity to taste Port wine,  thendeparture to Porto, where we will spend the night.

Porto – Braga – Guimarães - Porto (B-D)

Breakfast at the hotel and visit of Porto whose historical centre was classified by UNESCO as World Heritage site. Highlights include the visit of the Cathedral and of the Stock Exchange palace, and then proceed for a wine tasting. Next, Braga, city known as the Portuguese Rome, where we will visit its Cathedral and the monumental staircase of the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte. Afterwards we  head for Guimarães, a quaint village also classified as a World Heritage, where we can enjoy a stroll through the winding medieval villages. At the end of the day, return to the hotel for dinner & overnight in Porto.


Day 7

Porto – Aveiro – Buçaco – Coimbra – Fátima (B-D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Travelling along the coast we reach Aveiro, famous for its water channels and coloured boats. Next Buçaco, a national park, with its rich variety of flora and fauna species. Then, Coimbra, where we will be visiting the historical center and the University.  Overnight Coimbra


Day 8

Fátima – Tomar – Batalha – Nazaré – Alcobaça - Fátima (B-D)

First stop on our journey is Tomar, ancient templar village where we will visit the ancient Castle and Convent, as well as the Synagogue. Next we will get to know the monastery of Batalha. Stop at Nazaré, picturesque a fishing village. Afterwards, we will visit Alcobaça, where we can view the tombs of the King D. Pedro and D. Inês de Castro. Continue towards Fátima, Portugal’s most well-known catholic sanctuary, for accommodation at the hotel. After dinner you have an option to go and view  the Candles Procession in Fátima’s sanctuary in the evening. Return to the hotel in Fátima for overnight at the hotel.


Day 9

Fátima – Óbidos – Sintra – Lisbon (B-D)

After breakfast, departure to Óbidos a small picturesque village encased in medieval walls. Afterwards, depart for Sintra, to visit the small village and of the Royal Palace. Then we are on our way towards lisbon passing through the sea side of  resorts of Cascais and Estoril along the way. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Lisbon (B-D)

Discove Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, with its enchanting historical quarters whose highlights include St. George’s Castle, as well as the Belém monuments, and several testimonies of the Jewish presence in the city. There is an opportunity to visit one of Lisbon’s museums. At the end of the day enjoy dinner with a Fado show in a typical restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 11

Lisbon – Flight back home! (B)

Our tour end. After breakfast, you will be transfered to Lisbon airport for your flight back home.
